As I type there is THA999 Thai 772 north-west of ADL and it's doing over 630kts. It's a blown up there!

Winds here in Ballarat yesterday were over 100klm/hr gusts

 

Today is still windy, but not quite as bad...

I flew back from Perth (to Canberra) last night and the captain mentioned that at one point we had a tail wind of some 350km/h. The figures below do not surprise me given the winds...

Just got back from AKL-OOL return. Had 220km/h on the nose there (bit of a slow trip) and a nice fast trip back with 220km/h behind us!
