Pricey
Hey Guys, Was on the mound today when I heard ATC advise this QF 737 to go round. Seemed VERY late... Malaysian 122 B744 lingered too long on 34L before getting away and this guy got as close as 100ft (by my reckoning) - If I was quick enough, I could have got them both in the same shot they were that close... Guest Darren Masters
Will be interesting to see if a report comes out from either crew of those aircraft. Don't forget Pricey when aircraft are in the sky, even if they are far apart it can sometimes seem as a near-miss. Not doubting you though mate. Pricey
Hi Darren, I know there are often articles sensationalising "near misses" and "lives at risk" etc, etc, but... As sure as I'm sitting here, I seriously could have got both aircraft in the same shot. In fact the QF 73 was directly above the MAS 74 when I took the shot... ATC was none too happy with the MAS crew for being so slow when they sent them over to departure frequency. I will be looking out for an article to appear somewhere soon...
