Guest Michael Coates Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Hi guys, we are co-operating with a company who makes some really neat UAV's which use autogyro and powered parachute technology. It's a really interesting use of this technology and will interest a lot of you. They launch their UAV's from a hummer or a cargo plane at 25,000 feet and then fly around. They can also drop supplies (relief supplies, weapons, people, cars etc) from a plane under parachute and then STEER the parachute by GPS to land where they want it to.... this way they can drop, lets say a box of bullets for people fighting a battle, 30 kms away where a cargo plane wont get shot down and the parachute steers the payload to land at the exact location where its required (provided its within the glide profile) Really interesting uses and not just for war. http://www.mmist.ca/
