I was plane spotting at brisbane airport when out of nowhere came a cessna type aircraft about 500' alt flying across the runways not along them, then it vanished out into the bay.

I thought littlies were a no no at the brisbane airport,it never landed and was never seen again for the rest of the afternoon.

I have a scanner but never had it with me that day,im in the learning process of plane spotting LOL.

are there flyover exceptions?? TY ,, Rod:smile:

Simple

Request clearanceto transit the zone.

Typical clearance to track to overhead the tower and then to the manly boat harbour ...

Nothig to get excited about

Hi there, I overfly all the time... Direct JCW - Bris Tower then North to wherever..... No problems at all, they enjoy something a little different but they usually take us over at 1,000 or 1,500 for clearance with the arrivals and departures, its not uncommon to see 3 or 4 jets come and go as your flying past.

Yep, been a long time since I overflew Adelaide, but same here, they usually offer you the coastal route (which takes you past the end of runway 23 and may involve a delay) or the overhead route which takes you straight over the top of the airfield, out of the way of traffic departing either direction or arriving from either direction. It's actually the safest place to be, save the odd helicopter or two...
