Guest David C
I'm off on another trip to GB tomorrow . I am flying on the EY451 which deps SYD at 1450 . I know already that the flight is being operated by A6-EHI . If you get a chance , and the skies are clear look out for me Chainy . I was hoping for EHJ , it always seems to elude me !! .. From AUH we fly to BRU and BHX . I am taking in the Farnborough Air Display , and also the Royal International Air Tattoo . The B787 is being touted as a Farnborough visitor , we will keep our fingers crossed .. Till I speak again .. Cheerio Dave C

Guest David C
Ah so that was you waving !!... Thanks Chainy for those shots , I really appreciate it . From your overhead we tracked Parkes , Alice Springs , Derby , Bali , Palembang , Banda Aceh , Goa , Al Ain and straight in landing on r/w 31L at AUH at 2320Hrs local . Flight time was 14h 15m , a little faster than forecast and temp on arrival was 36 degs . We are staying just one night at the Yas Island Rotana hotel .. right under the app/ dep path from AUH .. How convenient , my wife said !! .. Had a IL76 scream out this morning immediately followed by a A124 . tried to get shots , however , the camera steamed up as soon as I opened the balcony window !! .. Flying out tomorrow at 0245 Hrs for Brussels , arriving in daylight , so hopefully a chance of a photo or two perhaps . Once again , many thanks Dave C
Guest Chainsaw
the camera steamed up David!!! You must stop that heavy breathing habit right now. It's affecting your plane photography and hobby. Your dear wife needs to keep a closer eye on your health practices. Glad you got there safe mate :)

Guest David C
BAD NEWS !!!!!.... I'm holed up here in a Cyprus hospital ... We decided to take a short trip to Cyprus and to cut a very long story short I have been struck down with an internal problem , have had laser and other surgery and at this time don't know when or where I will flying to from here .. Farnborough Air Display and the Royal International Air tattoo are definitely off now . My main priority is to get well enough to leave the island and eventually get back to Aussie .. I will give you the gruesome details at a later date , but at the moment I'm sore , but at least I'm breathing . and there is worse places to be .. I will be in contact when we get back to the UK . Guest David C
Many thanks to all for your kind words and support , without which , I know my situation would have seemed much worse . We arrived back in GB last night , arriving at Birmingham Airport at 11pm ( no curfew here ) from Larnaca via Frankfurt . We flew Lufthansa A321 from Larnaca and a trusty old Lufty B737-300 to Birmingham . Saw an Air Moldova A320 in Larnaca ( no photo !! ) and a classic TU 154 of a Russian Airline which I will try and find out its identity later . I did get a few shots of that one , and I will try and post a little later. Frankfurt was very busy , nothing too exciting though to report , a few more shots taken there too .. My wife , God bless her , even has to put up with my plane antics even when I'm not feeling the best !!.. I will not be visiting any airshows now during the rest of the time here , on doctors orders . I can't afford to take the chance and risk a relapse . The main thing out of all this , is that all my biopsies have come back clear , and the doctors declare " no malignancies detected " .... believe me , that is music to my ears .. Thanks all , every one of you who have shown concern .. I'm now based in Birmingham for the next two weeks at least , and you never know a trip or two to the airport may be on the cards . So watch this space as the saying goes .. Dave C
Guest Chainsaw
Excellent news Dave. You will have to give that camera a real workout at the airport. Must fly the spotters flag eh? Very pleased and relieved that you are ok. Don't forget to give us your flight details when heading back to Oz.
Guest David C
Thanks Chainy ... I will certainly pass on my flight details when I have finally confirmed everything . Now as promised a few shots . Aegean A320 at Larnaca That IL64M registered to Perm Airlines ?? A different angle Air Namibia A343 at Frankfurt The quality of all is not too flash hot . I have no software here to smarten up the images , so thay are basically out of the camera and all through airport glass too .. Dave C
Guest Chainsaw
The IL64M looks in rather sus condition. I wouldn't fly in that coffin if ya paid me. Thanks for the pics Dave :)
Guest David C
All good things must come to an end and today we leave the UK bound for Sydney . We are flying Brussels Airlines from Birmingham to Brussels , a Avro RJ , and then Etihad to Abu Dhabi on the EY56 . The aircraft is A6-EYN a A333 . We have seats 23A and 23C , just of the wing . It is an overnighter so the scenery will not be an option .. We arrive in Abu Dhabi at 0700 local time on 28th , and depart on the EY450 , arriving Sydney at 0620 on Friday the 30th .. It's been an "eventful " trip , one that promised so much and unfortunately delivered so little . Ah well , my health is a top priority and missing Farnborough and Fairford while disappointing was unavoidable . I can always go again , and many more time too I hope . I have to say cheerio for now , but I will catch up with you all soon .. Dave C
Guest Darren Masters
Thanks for sharing the shots Dave and a safe trip home mate
Guest David C
We arrived in Abu Dhabi a few hours ago . Aircraft was A6-EYN as suspected . Good flight , 6h16m from Brussels . 45degs here , so I'm afraid we are just staying in the hotel . There were 2 AN124's here , a Volga and a Maximus Airlines example . No photos though . We leave at 1015Hrs tomorrow for Sydney on the EY450 , arriving at 0620 hrs on Friday . See ya then . Dave C

Guest David C
Guess what ??? .... It's A6-EHJ for the flight to SYD ... I've been waiting a long time to fly on this bird , and now I've flown on every A340 in the EY fleet .. We are refreshed after our overnight stay in Abu Dhabi and waiting at the departure gate right now . See you in SYD .. Dave C
