A Perth-bound Air New Zealand flight has been forced to return to Auckland Airport after a suspected bird strike. Guest scott fletcher Posted June 15, 2011 Share Posted June 15, 2011 At 10.30am, the following airlines have announced suspension of some or all inbound/outbound services:* Virgin Australia - all services from 1pm to midnight (WST) * South African Airways – SA201 Perth to Johannesburg * Skywest - some services will be suspended * Alliance – all services from 1pm to midnight (WST) * Qantas – all services from 1pm (WST) * Jetstar – all services from 1pm (WST) South African Airways has cancelled its Wednesday flight from Perth to Johannesburg and Jetstar and Tiger airlines have said they are reviewing their flights in and out of the airport. Perth hosts 17 international carriers which will have to individually decide whether to continue, divert or stop flights. Regional carrier Skywest Airlines has brought forward some flights to resource projects in Western Australia and has cancelled evening flights to Albany, Geraldton and Esperance.
