zenonie
And I saw it whizzing past about 6pm too! The ABC radio is great for letting you know about stuff like that. The only downside is ya gotta listen to it all the time! 4 planets were also alignend in the morning sky for about 5 days, we had great views of it here at Kilcowera. john roe
TONIGHT<<<<>>> Mon May 23/ 06:03 PM= Shuttle ,, 06:05 PM = ISS, and visable 3 mins, both 2 mins apart on WSW path, fraction left of north....comming towards Perth from the NNW, basically look almost straight to the north and low down about 2 mins before. ## This story is false where stated the shuttle will past over Perth followed by the ISS,, the shuttle is still at the ISS and does not undock until May 29th and lands Thurs 1st at 1300 Perth Time ),.... STAR-GAZERS should watch out for a different kind of shooting star in Perth's sky tonight. What may appear to be a slow-moving star, will actually be NASA's shuttle Endeavour on its 25th and final mission to the International Space Station to deliver a $1.5 billion astrophysics experiment, spare parts and supplies. Look up into the sky at 6.04pm tonight for the best chance to see the shuttle, which will be closely followed by the International Space Station one minute later. Weather permitting, both will pass over WA’s capital for three minutes in a west south-westerly direction. Satellites appear as small, steady, extremely fast-moving points of light and the International Space Station is the largest and brightest in the sky. The ISS is orbiting almost 322km above the Earth and it circles the planet about 16 times per day at a rate of 28,164kph. Dozens of residents reported seeing the ISS low on the eastern horizon when it passed over Perth on May 10. -------------------------------------
