STAR-GAZERS should watch out for a different kind of shooting star in Perth's sky tonight.

What may appear to be a slow-moving star, will actually be NASA's shuttle Endeavour on its 25th and final mission to the International Space Station to deliver a $1.5 billion astrophysics experiment, spare parts and supplies.

Look up into the sky at 6.04pm tonight for the best chance to see the shuttle, which will be closely followed by the International Space Station one minute later.

Weather permitting, both will pass over WA’s capital for three minutes in a west south-westerly direction.

Satellites appear as small, steady, extremely fast-moving points of light and the International Space Station is the largest and brightest in the sky.

The ISS is orbiting almost 322km above the Earth and it circles the planet about 16 times per day at a rate of 28,164kph.
