Guest Darren Masters Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Glenn, move this to another category if you see fit. Here are my notes from a Face Book posting I did: It was titled Stop Rubbishing Jetstar and Qantas For the media/other airlines/people rubbishing Qantas and Jetstar, why don't you get your facts right before criticising us? If you have any aviation knowledge at all you would know that for an airline to keep its fleet on the ground and not running flights at all costs a hell of a lot more than flying 10,000ft lower. It's SAFETY that is the issue. Get your facts right and stop rubbishing. I'm sick of all of it going on "Air NZ flying" this and that. How about Air NZ charging $800 one way from MEL-AKL? Is that not taking advantage of this situation? Bullshit, ofcourse it is. That is all. Just wanted to express my opinion. If that was the ACCC in Australia they would have Air NZ for dinner! Look at the screenshot below. You will notice the $800 is passenger only. No bags or meal included. You would pay alot more if you wanted that. You will also notice that the days after that the fares drop down to the $300-and-something mark. Isn't it funny that this is when the ash cloud is forecast to dissipate? You watch those fares go through the roof again if the ash cloud remains stationary! It is just wrong!
Guest Darren Masters Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Liked it so much I made a video: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQwV5WkEQQs[/ame]
Pete777 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Well Done Darren. I'm always putting people right when they complain about the safety issues that the media highlight from your mob and their Qantas cousins, in regard of my observations airside. Now the staff is another issue - , but the plane ops, there are other companies who are worse, I haven't seen a wheel roll off a taxing JQ/QA yet, and the last two full emergency standby's haven't involved them either, but it's not reported by the media as it's not Qantas.
Uncle Chop Chop Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 I agree Daz! Air NZ have to be joking!!!! For a fare that would normally cost around $250- $300 1 way to be that high, only for this day is ridiculous!!!! Virgin Australia have put on extra flights at reduced price to help people stranded from other carriers.
Guest Darren Masters Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Thanks guys. Spread the video where you can
