Guest Darren Masters Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Here in Queenstown the other afternoon after their first 'real' snowfall. Sunset across the Tasman on the way back to AKL from MEL this evening (9th July) VH-VGY.
Guest David C Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Queenstown has had some "proper " snow overnight !! ... It appears that the airport is closed at the moment with snow clearing operations in progress . There is an excellent webcam of ZQN , found at http://www.queenstownairport.com/facilities/webcam/?x=55&y=23.... I can see a ANZ A320 being de-iced right at this time , and runway clearing also happening . Most flights are delayed or cancelled too according to the airport website . We had a fair bit of snow back in May , but nothing quite like the amount now .. Thanks Darren , always look forward to your shots mate .. Dave C
Guest Darren Masters Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Thanks Dave. Glad you like the pics. Mrs stuck down there now I think or attempting to get back from there/in there. Not sure but all their sign-on times today were adjusted.
planedriver Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Nice pics Darren. The first gives one the shivers, but the second is awesome. Keep well. Kind regards Alan
Guest Darren Masters Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Thanks Alan. Hope you have been well mate. Yes, it is cold when you open that door in Queenstown.
planedriver Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Thanks for the reply Darren, am I to assume by the avitar that you've taken up flying a Hills Hoist. If you don't get a reply for a while, i'm heading off on my first cruise tommorow. Rgds Alan
