baumy
So, I was coming back from Brisbane the other day and arrived in Melbourne in the rain. I saw a Qantas A380 taxiing to rwy 27. Now I didn't think the A380 could get off rwy27 in the dry, let alone get off in the pouring rain using only 2/3 of the runway. Does someone wanna explain?
Guest Chainsaw
I could be wrong but I think I remember that OQA used that runway in testing. May not have much of a load though.
baumy
Well it was a loaded flight. Don't know where it was off to though. May only have been Singapore, or the domestic services Qantas put in on the A380 so it wasn't full of fuel... it remains a mystery..
ben170292
i know the topic is A380 but yesterday i saw 2 or 3 744s land on it and also today saw another 744 take off from it

Guest Glenn
Perhaps it was due to the wild weather - http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/qantas-a380-to-make-first-domestic-voyage-to-clear-backlog-of-passengers-stranded-by-bad-weather/story-e6freuy9-1226151138288
