dazza 38
HI Folks, if the media is true and Airmarshals are going to be made redundant on domestic flights. That is a good excuse for the government to get rid of the useless ASIC/AVID card. What are your thoughts guys ?
Guest Michael Coates
I didn't even know we had air marshals in Australia except for some flights going to the USA..... Shows how much i know !
Guest DWB
Dazza I agree, however, I doubt it would happen as Air Marshalls cost money & ASIC/AVID makes money. MC I didn't know we had Marshalls either, but then I only fly in big planes about once every 3 years.
dazza 38
Hi Michael and Dex.Apparently we have 140 Airmarshalls.I heard around 40 of those do the domestic flights. It would have been better if they didnt release the information to the media. It has been released because Air Marshalls is one of the items that have been chopped on the budget commitee not all chopped just budget reduced. This information came from channel 7.I dont know much about it. Your right Dex, its a money maker for them.

dazza 38
The whole thing was a overkill.IMHO I think that the government of the day, panicked and thought that they better do something. So as to be seen by the general public, as being proactive .
