David Isaac
Amazing ... that looks like a real break through Michael. Imagine a two person size version of that with fuel tanks and an engine. It could go anywhere. The only problem I see is the propulsion noise to the occupants.
Guest Michael Coates
agreed..... Systems like this are long way off for passenger use and may never ever even make it to market but it is just so interesting to see this technology. Especially when he intentionally bumps the unit and it immediately stabilises and returns to normal flight.... just amazing! imagine being able to drop this into the Japanese reactor to see what is going on, large diameter city sewer surveys....... You could do anything
dazza 38
They are going to have to put a chute on these, if humans are going fly in them.I dont think they will glide well after a engine out.I think. Pretty good stuff though.
Guest Michael Coates
mmm I don't know about the gliding characteristics. If you look at the way it all works they have fins inside.... if the thing was nose heavy it would rotate to the ground and then you could use the Fins to change the direction just like you do with an elevator. You would not catch me in one of these at the technology does have promise which seems to be not based on science fiction
David Isaac
Build one big enough for me and put a ballistic chute on it and I would be in it in a flash. Still mad at 58 ... LOL
Guest OzChris
That is amazing! The Japanese are a clever lot...
willedoo
Not sure if it's the same one in the news a month or two ago, looks very similar. They were talking about it's uses for law enforcement, surveillance, anti-terrorism etc. One theory was fitting cameras & flying it up alleyways or whatever to check out the bad guys, advantage being that it could bounce off walls etc without damage.
