Spin Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jpo0gYgV1ik Makes me feel a bit better about the odd shocker I have produced over the years......
Guest Darren Masters Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Ouch! He tried to flare but clearly way too late. Did you see the bounce in the flap? Terrible. That would have felt like s^%! in the cabin! How many landing fees did they charge the bloke?
Guest aviatrix27 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 3 for the price of 1 - maybe he wasn't current :p
Guest ozzie Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 An FO that was new on type? yep landing fee x 3. See the air brakes deploy and retract each time it landed. Poor bugger probably had to buy a few rounds at the bar that night. Post ad Reminds me of that old 'snag list' you see from time to time where the pilot adds aircraft lands hard on 'auto land' and the engineers response was "aircraft not fitted with auto land"
Guest JabJockey Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I resembled that video during my training, albeit in a light aircraft
Guest ozzie Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Ha ha That's one way of saving the company fuel for currency training.
Guest JabJockey Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I guess my currency will never expire then :)
HeadInTheClouds Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 That makes me feel better about my landings :)
Guest Darren Masters Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 This guy was not so lucky kids!
Spin Posted November 10, 2011 Author Posted November 10, 2011 Ah yes, now that one is directly applicable to our type of flying - do not try and force an aircraft onto the ground! That nose oleo put up with a surprising amount of abuse before crying enough.

dazza 38 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 When I see video's of pilots landing like the Cherokee Pilot.They should realy consider looking for another hobby.
Spin Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 Another well known one in the same vein, with a more serious result;
dazza 38 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Same thing as above.The guy should have gone around. Having a close look at the video.Has anybody tought this bloke how too land a aeroplane ?
