:(

Today, I flew to YYWG to get VH-SYF's Christmas Present. She was getting a new Sensenich prop. We opened the parcel which had arrived from America, guess what, it's damaged. :(:(:( No idea how long it will be now....

not my problem, either the supplier or the shipper has to replace it - OR ELSE!

It wasn't shipped FedEx was it? Did you see the FedEx guy toss the large LCD monitor over the fence?

Apparently he still works for them. There is another Youtube video of a FedEx VP apologising for his actions. Says the guy is not now working with the public in the company now. I guess someone during his training forgot to tell him you can't deliver parcels like that or maybe that was his first strike of 3.

Of course none of this helps console Kaye as she was really hanging out for this new prop. (I know the feeling - I recently cancelled an order for one I've been waiting over 6 months for)

LOL Thats funny. He mentions better training.I wonder what that was? Something along the lines of "Err people dont throw fragile items over fences". Its a no brainer. The only time I have used Fed Ex. I was stuffed around a few times.

Never again.

Kaye, sorry to hear about you prop.Couriers have to start to think about what they are transporting.Instead of throwing things around. They have to take pride in their jobs.Which Im sure most of them do.Very unfortunate, I hope they get their act togther. I had a parcel be delivered from the states.Long story, but the paper work on there end was incorrect. They sent it back, to the states, then sent it back to me again. That round trip only took 3 weeks. Which wasnt that bad.I hope that you dont have to waite too long for a replacement.

I will have to wait a long time I think - the prop is modified and STC'd. I ordered this one back in Sept/Oct, was told there was one in stock and it was going to the prop shop for the mod. He thought it would be ready the following week for shipping, alas it was closer to 6 weeks. Of course, all these suppliers will close down over Christmas/New Year too - I'll be lucky to have the new prop in time for my birthday in March!

The new mylar covering for the lazair came via Fed Ex fortunately they packed it well and arrived undamaged even tho the packaging looked like it had been through a war or two.

I watched it via the electronic tracking system as it went from New York to two depots in England then to Tokyo before going to Melbourne then to Sydney. I was jealous as it had seen more of the world than i had at the time.

We have had a lot of problems shipping our customers products with various companies here. 50 x 60 x 100 50kg boxes just being rolled off the truck. Ended up having to strap them to pallets and pay extra. Insurance is prohibitive.

You may have to get the prop company to pack it in an aluminium tube or similar.
