seashore Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Hi Everyone I'm after information about birds flying in IMC for my blog. I'd be particularly interested in any reports of bird strikes in IMC, at night and at high altitudes, whether IMC or VMC or just sightings at high altitudes. I have posted some articles on my blog about bird navigation under the "science" link which is about whether birds can steer by compass, by the stars and some theories about long distance navigation. My blog can be found on: http://topbirdsandeveryfing.typepad.com/top-birds-everyfing/

Guest DWB Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 I do battle with them (Galahs) nearly every time I take off & land on my strip at the moment. They're a worry. Should video them sometime.
Guest Darren Masters Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 I've seen Ibis' out of The Oaks at 5,000ft AGL.
