Guest DWB
Flew to Dubbo today. Noticed in ERSA that there was an AWIS on 114.40. Didn't think much of it until I went to access it. My ICOM A210 doesn't go that low. Stops at 118.00. Are there other radio's in GA world that go down there? Wasn't a big deal of course I just phoned it instead. Guest aviatrix27
That's a VOR frequency. Mine's not working at the moment but I think the range is 112-
Guest avi8tr
The XCOM760 goes down to 108 and upwards of 136 into 160's territory! You need a VOR to receive that low as Kaye has said. It is a shame that they don't put it on the higher frequencies as many aircraft don't have VOR as we know.
Guest Michael Coates
It's in the VOR range and is generally used for navigation but some airports send the weather on the nav frequency range. VOR is 108.000 to 117.975. Airband is 118.000 to 136.975 and above that is lots of other frequencies for 2 meter band FM etc...
