Guest Darren Masters Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 I'm heading there in JUL. I'm keen on any 'aviation' related activities. Already sussed out the seaplane bear tours but has anyone else been? Can you recommend something? Does not just have to be aviation-related :)
Guest Michael Coates Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Do a bush pilot flying school, best 5 hours in your life in a super cub with big wheels... $1,000 course
Guest Darren Masters Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Sounds good but geez mate, I'm only a flight attendant. The bear tour is already $750 LOL.
Guest avi8tr Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Before you go, watch the series of Flying Wild Alaska and then visit Era Alaska airlines.

willedoo Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 It would be a good chance to see a few old classics if you'e in the right place. I think there's still some C-119 Flying Boxcar's getting around Alaska somewhere. Everts Air Cargo/Air Fuel out of Fairbanks operate a few DC-6's & a couple of Curtiss Commandos, flying into Anchorage at times. There would be others around, I'd guess. Cheers, Willie. P.S. don't trust the bears.
