Carbon Tax & Aviation Fuels

Interesting reading, Dexter.

The only bit I couldn't figure out is why the carbon content of the excise rises slightly in 2013 & again in 2014, when the carbon price is fixed until 2015. Shouldn't the carbon content of excise remain the same during the period in which the carbon price doesn't change. Maybe when they say it's fixed, they mean that the price is set initially with an annual increase thrown in.

On the bright side, if some forcasts come true, fuel should start getting progressively cheaper after 2015, starting off with a drop of 4 cents/litre by my calculations.

Cheers, Willie.

It seems is only little bits of extra cost ,but over the whole span of the cost of living and recreational things it's going to be a fair whack of dosh I reckon. Some things will sneak up in cost with out us noticing , till we look back and think WTF!

Car petrol is 38 cents a litre, just saying'...

Funny how the price of AVGAS has gone nothing but up over the years without a word, but when the government ads a little, all the suppliers start sending out letters!

But we're being fed a line that says this tax is going to save the planet, it's a scam, if the lying bastards want to prop up their stuff ups with an increase in tax would it be fair that we don't get treated like we ( the voters) are not important, if it's such a good thing why don't they have the guts to take it to an election and let the Australian people decide, instead of the deceit we got, it doesn't matter if fuel goes up by one cent if it's done through lies and deception then it's wrong, that's the bottom line .
