mnewbery Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 While cooling my heels on parental duty, I read about a breakdown of separation between to aircraft. One belonged to Sharp Airlines so I started digging and found this: http://sharpairlines.com.au/airline_pilot_training/pilotcadetships.html You would need to read the whole thing but basically for $25k per term for four terms they will take you or me off the street and turn us into copilots on a metro over a year or so. According to the website this training operation has been in place for 21 years. I had a chuckle about the bit right at the end noting that they usually only hire copilots from their own cadet programme. Which is fair enough if the airline is aiming to deliver a consistent product in this way but a bit limiting if nobody takes the cadetships up. Has anyone gone down this road, either with this operator or other cadetships?
