mnewbery Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 I'm sure there will be plenty more photo opportunities like this coming up. Darling Downs is throwing some great vistas this time of year. Because its ssoooooo flat you can see the weather (good or bad) coming from miles away. Photo notes Trevor Bange and Phil on the left upgrading some wiring in the background. Drifter 24-0787 undergoing main landing gear refurbishment. The airframe is suspended by a hoist, the wheels are lying on the ground under it. "Retractable Drifter" anyone? :D

siznaudin Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Gawd ... what a temptation to drop into the Pub, eh...? http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/06/04/long-ago-a-pilot-landed-on-an-uptown-street-thats-where-the-bar-was/?ref=nyregion&_r=0
mnewbery Posted July 30, 2013 Author Posted July 30, 2013 I seem to remember joking about landing next to a pub the day the photo was taken. For that trick you might like to try Aubigny Hotel: https://maps.google.com.au/maps?q=Aubigny,+Queensland,+4401&hl=en&ll=-27.517701,151.643448&spn=0.001368,0.002642&sll=-27.432973,151.719982&sspn=0.347987,0.676346
