mnewbery Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Fully electric Cessna 172 Skyhawk has flow multiple times over last year on Panacis advanced lithium batteries. http://evworld.com/news.cfm?newsid=28964 It runs on LiFe chemistry (I think). The article claims the battery technology is being driven directly by military and diverse corporate (medical, aviation and some trasnsport) requirements. What I want to know is - Has anyone figured out that it would be a good idea to make the batteries jettisonable and therefore mounted somewhere near the CofG in case of a fire?
