Fully electric Cessna 172 Skyhawk has flow multiple times over last year on Panacis advanced lithium batteries.

It runs on LiFe chemistry (I think). The article claims the battery technology is being driven directly by military and diverse corporate (medical, aviation and some trasnsport) requirements.

What I want to know is - Has anyone figured out that it would be a good idea to make the batteries jettisonable and therefore mounted somewhere near the CofG in case of a fire?
