qantas747 Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 G'day all, On Saturday I had my nav briefing. In 2 weeks time I am doing my first nav up to Orange. For this my instructor suggested that I get a kneeboard. Do any of you have any suggestions on which one to buy, as I really have no clue which is best. Thanks all, Ollie
Guest aviatrix27 Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 G'day Ollie Unlike most, I didn't get a kneeboard, but got like a standard A4 clipboard but with 2 clips on the side instead of the one on the top. I got mine from Skylines at Moorabbin and I'm up to my 2nd one now. Good luck, and don't forget to have fun :)
qantas747 Posted September 2, 2013 Author Posted September 2, 2013 Hi Kaye, Thanks for the suggestion! Is this the one you use? http://www.skylines.com.au/products/530/skylines-vfr-lapboard Cheers
Guest aviatrix27 Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Yes Ollie, that's the one I use. It may or may not be right for you. I always have a co-pilot with me, hubby and I always fly together (we take turns at the controls). If I am solo, our flight bag gets buckled in on the passenger's seat and the lapboard is easy to grab from there when I need it.
mnewbery Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Got iPad knee board from Sporties. If you are going that way also remember you will need non polarised sun glasses. I got the kneeboard deal with the dual xgps Bluetooth receiver. The clipboard will definitely work though ... Until turbulence sends it to the floor or somewhere not on your lap you also can't reach
mnewbery Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Use #233 for co-pilot. Retrieve important thing that just flew past you in the cockpit...
