I used to get them from SAAA in packs of 3 however my membership has lapsed ; can anyone suggest where else I may get some ?

all I could find is what appears to be a book of 50 at the CASA website.

Thanks,

Doug.

Oh yes! My mistake. I was thinking if I put in a big order with a retailer maybe they could slip a few in but at $3.30 each I doubt it would be for free. I still think it's worth asking about, if the forms don't have serial numbers

I think that it is quite legal for a LAME to remove the original page from a book of M/Rs for the purpose you propose. The LAME would endorse the page that remains in the book with the details of where the M/R went so that the LAME's records would be complete. Go sweet talk a local LAME.

After all, when a LAME issues an M/R for an aircraft s/he released to service, the original goes off with the aircraft, only to be returned to the same LAME if that LAME carries out the next annual or 100 hourly inspection. If the owner of an aircraft is permitted to issue an M/R for that aircraft, all the owner has to remember is to retain the expired M/Rs seemingly forever.

That's the first time I have ever heard of having to pay for a form. Paying a fee for filing it to cover processing and other charges or whatever may be OK but I agree with SD or just get a blank one & copy it.

Yep! there are all sorts on the net - print the one you like best & copy ad infinitum.

You can't copy MRs for VH registered aircraft as each form is numbered for tracing purposes. Copied ones are OK for RAAus registered aircraft.

From memory they cost about $8.50 each from SAAA.

Find someone in SAAA to get one for you. I will have to get one in a couple of months, when I do my annual, I could get an extra one for you. I don't mind ordering early.

Another plus for RAA (I bet consecutive numbers could be arranged ---- somehow.)

Sssshhhh......don't give them ideas......

CEO will have the calculator out crunching numbers about how much he can scam off owners..... while spruiking "No fee increases"...

For owner maintenance there’s no issue with the   MR forms being copied.

The serial numbers are only if importance for LAME workshop tracking so the MR in the plane can be compared back to the copy kept in the big green book from which the first one was torn.

At most you might want to cross out the serial number and write “not applicable” across it. But even that is overkill.

As long  as you fill in all the details appropriately the serial number is superfluous unless the copy in the LAME’s  big green book is also filled in at the time of issuing.
