JG3 Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 I wanted to follow the gas pipelines that carry gas to the export port at Gladstone. Finally got perfect weather for the flight. https://followingthegas.blogspot.com/2019/07/following-gas-to-export-httpswww.html 7 1
Yenn Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 Looks good John, you make Gladstone look better than it really is. There is another small gas pipeline for use in Qld that runs past Rodds Bay. and the drag strip.
planedriver Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 It's a pity they don't also run water through pipes to the agricultural areas where it's needed most. This would also create income from exports as well as producing an income for farmers that supply the local markets. An interesting post. Thanks!
Yenn Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 They do run water in the area I mentioned above. The local water board in the Gladstone region, raised the dam years ago. Dawson valley contributed to the cost and in exchange they get water pumped over the range and into the headwaters of one of the creeks feeding the Dawson River. This pipeline can be spotted from the air as a cleared line, even though the pipe is buried.
