2. First trip for Shark One.

The Prime Minister will be travelling to the USA on the first trip undertaken by the KC30 MRTT sometimes referred to as "Shark One", after the PM's NRL team the Cronulla Sharks. Using this aircraft, the supporting staff and media contingent can travel together instead of split into multiple aircraft, and the range of the MRTT will allow travelling to the US without stopping in Hawaii to refuel. The RAAF will charge the media contingent for their travel. The MRTT can carry 100 in lay flat seating, compared to 18--20 in the BBJ used by previous PM's. Read more here.
