Blackhawk Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Saw this on another forum; A-22 landing and taking off on a ship.
skippydiesel Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 This clip fun clip has been around for a while but lets check out the performance. Foxebat stall claimed @ 28 knots Ship forward seed (looks like the captain has gone to max cruise) say 20 knots Ship turned directly into wind of say 15 knots Effective wind over nice long flat deck say 35 knots Foxbat power on (not glide) landing air speed 35 knots at touch down - minimal to nil forward role Take off would have been almost instant - no appreciable deck run Biggest problem would be "float" & avoiding being blown back down the deck - good deck crew a must. Looks spectacular and I am sure the pilot had a buzz but probably not as risky as appears. Got to say I would love to do something like this
Downunder Posted September 30, 2019 Posted September 30, 2019 Ha ha. My secret fantasy is to land on an aircraft carrier..... 1
