Thruster88 Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Unlike in the movies he made sure it was completely dead before turning his back and taking a bow, well done.
onetrack Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 The problem is related to poor design. Apparently a case of water fell onto the accelerator. That's what you get with uncertified equipment, I'm amazed they even allowed it onto a major airport, such as O'Hare. Heads will roll over this, no doubt. Will this go down in the aviation crash database? The big question to be answered, is - how many Boeing 787MAX design engineers had input into this cart? 2
facthunter Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Even Lawnmowers/ tractors have better safety devices. Should never be possible, airside. Nev 1

That's what you get with uncertified equipment If it's anything like places I work for, the design was probably commissioned by someone who doesn't actually do the job, at great cost and probably met every certification they could think up. The operator may have then found that it couldn't carry the required load and that if he put two extra cartons in the cab he wouldn't have to make two trips. Not saying that is the case, only that I have seen how this sort of thing precipitates. 1
