pmccarthy Posted October 6, 2019 Posted October 6, 2019 So that’s what an electric aeroplane looks like! 2
440032 Posted October 6, 2019 Posted October 6, 2019 That's revolting Peter. (it's on now, let's go!)
onetrack Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 That's the ultimate high-wire act! Absolutely electrifying!!
Thruster88 Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 This must be a cable car line or there would have been some serious f ARCing.
IBob Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 This must be a cable car line or there would have been some serious f ARCing. That....or a Garden Aerplane Trap: https://www.artic.edu/artworks/118691/garden-airplane-trap 1
bexrbetter Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 So that’s what an electric aeroplane looks like! It's on charge at the moment.
Marty_d Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Must've been a carrier pilot, he caught the number 2 wire... 1
Butch Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 I know you said your new plane had fly by wire.............didn't expect this!
flyvulcan Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 I heard the pilot was a 95 year old former member of the French resistance, holidaying in Italy and was flying on his ohm with no one else in the aircraft...
onetrack Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 ... and he met with some serious level of wire resistance? Certainly, enough resistance to stop his current path.
Blueadventures Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 A novel way to change out wing tank fuel drains with the tanks full of fuel :)
facthunter Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 OFF TOPIC comments perhaps? There's 3 wires there displaced sideways and it's hooked on only one.. The plane would no doubt stop abruptly so I hope the occupant(s) are OK. Nev
440032 Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 What, no Ferris Wheels in Italy??? (Hell, here I come....) 2
IBob Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 Ski Lift: here's a writeup, of sorts, with more detailed pictures: https://www.stuff.co.nz/travel/travel-troubles/116456960/plane-crashes-into-ski-lift-in-italy 1
pmccarthy Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 If the pilot was thrown out from that height his injuries would be more than serious.
IBob Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 If the pilot was thrown out from that height his injuries would be more than serious. Depends: looks like the aircraft was travelling away from the camera position, so maybe he fell into trees...and maybe also onto steeply falling ground...the ski-jump effect???
Phil Perry Posted October 10, 2019 Author Posted October 10, 2019 Thanks for the research IBOB. . .When I got that picture, the only detail was 'ITALY'. . . . I normally include info, but didn't have time, computer blew up big time so I'm back on a replacement as of this morning,. . .trying to remember all my passwords ! ! ! !
cscotthendry Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 Was the pilot conducting a short circuit? 1
