How did we get here from a Crash at Aratula?

The Aratula accident has been reported to RAA and we might hear from them some time in the future.

From #24 we've been discussing ALA compliance generally.

'You are all "pissing in the wind" and all have wet shoes'

"Pissing in the wind" definition: trying to do something when there is no hope of succeeding/

"Wet shoes" definition (Urban Dictionary)" to have wet shoes is to be inebriated on a drug or alcohol; to get your shoes wet is to get high. "Dude I got my shoes so wet last night."

It's jokingly referred to as a way to get your own, back. or as a time wasting ineffective pastime/ exercise. Nev

Try it while facing into a stiff breeze and the report back to us on the outcome.....

I have heard of that...... Something done by footballers to recycle their drugs orally.

And used as promotional opportunities by their "friends"

I could never understand the outcry over that...They're footballers, it's what they do. You can't expect more from them.

Why anyone would elevate them to "hero" status in beyond me. It just says we have very low standards for heroes.

When was the last time you saw a party of cancer researchers videoing each other urinating in their own mouth?

They are smart enough to not do it or smart enough to keep it private...either way they're smarter.

Remind me what this thread is about, I'm missing something here??

I seem to think all this stemmed from some people insisting on details from the Aratula crash. Based on the fact that other crash thread have been picked over by every armchair crash investigator. And this one seemed to be being covered up by in "in crowd" cause it was one of them.

Personally Im sure it will all come out in the wash eventually. Except maybe the smell of urine on shoes.?

Yep, as any conversation does it drifts around quite a bit. I think that is one of the reasons this site is successful. Imagine going to the pub and being told you can only discuss certain topic in certain areas. They'd be out of business very quickly.

In regard to the actual topic, If I had an incident, the last place I would mention it is here. Not to cover up, but I have seen the armchair investigators at work and the downright nasty accusations that get thrown around.

From the comments I've seen, most of the interest is just a nasty kind of schadenfreude and vindictiveness which is typical of most of Australia, not the interest in "safety" often claimed.

Go back through the accidents and you will see that almost without fail, there will accusations of incompetence, recklessness, lawbreaking and outright stupidity.

Granted, at times these comments may be warranted, but most of the time they start even before the investigation has.

I wouldn't tell them anything.

As is generally the case, the only person who knows what went/goes on is the person up front.. Air is not static. It moves and you move with it. Strange things may happen no matter how Bl***y clever you think you are. . Downbursts as an example. They investigated and found out that in some situations you were going in and that's it. You then need practical ways to avoid such situations as well as special training to optimise your chances of survival. Nev
