willedoo Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Always enjoy watching these Be-200's operating. The location looks like Port of Novorossiysk on the Black Sea.
Jerry_Atrick Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 @willedoo - someone would think you are pro-rouski! Cag di la.. and all than (pardon the spelling).. I have to say, water-borne a/c don't often do ti for me... But I have to say, I quite like that thing... Once we're out of the EU and the £ = the rouble, I should be able to get one ;-)
spacesailor Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 Great aircraft, But At 217 there's a low wing twin , coming ashore, another Great looking aircraft. spacesailor
willedoo Posted August 14, 2019 Author Posted August 14, 2019 Cag di la.. and all than (pardon the spelling).. Jerry, that looks like like something Italian. Do you mean как дела (Kak dela), how are you?
Jerry_Atrick Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 ha ha ha ha.. I had a Russian born girlfirend when I was 16 (I obviously haven't drunk enough - I can remember that far back).. And I am sure that is how her family pronounced my rather poor rendition - it was how I pronounced it...and her family (all from St. P'burgh) obviously were very polite... Mind you, when I tried my Russian in the Czech Republic, I was met with a stony, deafining silence coupled with stern looks.. For correcting me.. Spas yeee bah! ;-)

Spas yeee bah! ;-) Certainly a lot of different pronunciations. Moscow & Saint Petersburg a bit different from those out in the boonies. Same as with English, I guess. I remember going to Scotland once and thinking I should have brought an interpreter with me. The bus conductor was yelling out "Pert". Took a while to twig that we were coming into Perth.
Jerry_Atrick Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 The bus conductor was yelling out "Pert". Took a while to twig that we were coming into Perth. Phew! Otherwise, he could have been referring to a part of your anatomy!
red750 Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 Could have been Program Evaluation and Review Techniques. One of my roles in the Bank's I.T. Dept was to prepare PERT charts to manage the conversion of systems in COBOL (Burroughs system) into PL/1 (IBM).
Jerry_Atrick Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 Ahhh Red.. Now you're speaking my languages....
facthunter Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 You're only supposed to use Eeengleesh here. It's in the rules, you barbarians.. Next you will be speaking in Tongues.. Nev
Litespeed Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 I know COBOL from uni days, but it was ancient even then. The modern COBOL is naturally the home planet of BATTLESTAR GALLACTICA.
