Vev Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 The Tyabb airshow is on this Sunday 8th March. The wx is looking great and we have a huge line up of aircraft. The Corsair is back, Spitfire, Mustang, Kittyhaws and Boomerang. Boeing, Curtiss, North American and a bunch of Antique and Vintage aircraft. Water bombing, helicopters, the ADF with C17 and C27 plus the Roulettes, Simulators, drones and even a UFO. Buy your ticket on line. https://www.tyabbairshow.com This is a charity event, all of the aircraft, pilots and owners donate their time and costs to make this a memorable day. Cheers Jack 2
SGM Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 I was excited to hear Angel Flight will have a small stand at the Tyabb airshow, they usually have some great people answering questions and collecting coins...
SGM Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Can't get on to their website this morning? Tyabbairshow.com .. It's a bit slow, but it works for me, hopefully it's because lots of people are coming.
Guest Machtuk Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Nah still doesn't work, gives me this weird screen hardly able to read it
spenaroo Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 any advantage to buying online? I assume I can get one at the gate
Thruster88 Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Anyone that is going say hi to my friend Dave who flew down today from Cowra in his beautiful Gere sport 1
old man emu Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Dave who flew down today from Cowra in his beautiful Gere sport The Gere Sport is the plane I would like to build. I have been talking about here, LSA in USA • 15 years on (AFJ article). Looking at Dave's manly physique, it seems that I could fit into a Gere without widening the cockpit. I'd love to take a trip out to Cowra and meet Dave and see his beauty (which I know is on his farm) 1
SGM Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 Great day so far ... flying the flag for Angel Flight...literally. 5
tillmanr Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 Unfortunately a strong crosswind stopped some of the antiqhe aircraft flying but overall a success 1
Jerry_Atrick Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 Wish I was there.. Haven't been to Tyabb and the Peninsula Aero Club for years... Looks not a bad day, though.. better than here today...
Vev Posted March 11, 2020 Author Posted March 11, 2020 Thank you to everyone that came along. We had a record crowd and everyone seemed to enjoy the day. There was so many great displays and the C17missed approach was just mind blowing to see at our little airport. If you are a Victorian .... please sign our petition to help keep Tyabb open. https://parliament.vic.gov.au/index.php?option=com_rsform&view=rsform&formId=74&Itemid=1054&petition_id=183 Cheers Jack 1
Neil_S Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Here are a few that I took. A great event, especially considering the shortened timeframe they had after the council's intervention. A bit of a crosswind that kept some of the oldies on the ground (although not the UFO!), but clear skies for most of the day. Looking forward to 2022's show! Cheers, Neil 2
