Thruster88 Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 At our previous farm the house was right on the Bogan river. It was beautiful to see pelicans come in for a ski landing with hardly any wing flapping on the glassy water.
old man emu Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 Is it a Grumman Duck or a Grumman Goose? I can't see any see any snow all about, so it can't be a Muskovich. It's a Grumpy Mallard
onetrack Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 That undercarriage looks like its designed for landing on water, what's he doing, lining up with a sealed runway?
Marty_d Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 He's an amphibian. You can't see it in the photo, but little wheels have popped out of those skis. 1
Litespeed Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 Living the life on a boat in Port Stephens. I see up to a hundred perfect landings a day, all amphibious. Pelicans are just awesome to watch land and gannets are awesome diving into the water to fish. 2
horsefeathers Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 He's an amphibian. You can't see it in the photo, but little wheels have popped out of those skis. Ahhhhh - he's the Spruce Goose
facthunter Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 A peculiar bird is the Pelican. His beak can hold more than his bellycan. Nev 1
Bryon Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 A peculiar bird is the Pelican. His beak can hold more than his bellycan. Nev Aaahhh, but if anyone can, a pelican can....
KRviator Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 That undercarriage looks like its designed for landing on water, what's he doing, lining up with a sealed runway?Must've been trained by the same instructor that taught these pilots: Let's have a looksee at what's wrong here... ASI is off-scale-low Both engines are shut down (low oil pressure lights on) Flaps are at 0 Thrust levers are closed, so likely they don't meet the stable approach criteria. Speedbrake is nor armed Oh, and my personal favourite - the parking brake is on! 1
