Whaaat! no opinions???

You did say "experienced persons", which kind of cuts out anyone who hasn't flown a Europa XS...

The interior space is much smaller than a Jab, with less visibility. They look fast, but it's not a Mooney. Still a cool little plane with a reasonable 120kt cruise. I only noticed one bolt holding the wing on - hope it was titanium, or unobtanium. The Monostack variant is for test pilots who enjoy aircraft repair as a hobby.

Never stopped anyone in the past.

Us old glider pilots like the look of them, especially the monowheel one. And if the wings are joined like glider wings are, that single bolt is quite safe.

I reckon their main attribute would be their ability to glide. This sure would add to the safety.

There was one here in Wangaratta he used it to fly from Adelaide to Wang. Very quick Rotax powered with a vp prop if you would like and he is ok with talking to you I could get his number

That would be terrific - I am considering a purchase and could do with some pointers from an experienced owner/pilot

There have been many write ups in magazines over the years and the general concensus was that they are good.

In the court of public opinion GOOD means popular.. We are going back a while since much was written about these which would seem to be a specialist type of aircraft. The single wheel would take some extra effort at ground handling, to start with. Nev

There are a number of different models of Europa, and the XS is available in monowheel, trigear and glider version.

The Elite is an interesting further development that is reportedly being released this year. Currently Europa only utilise Rotax engines, but the Elite sales spiel says "many engine options".

However, that doesn't outline as to whether that means other brands of engine option will be available, or whether it just means a range of Rotax engine options.

I looked at the Wang Acft, but at 6’2” and 105kg found it a bit cramped. Never flew it.

I purchased a Liberty XL2` for not much more and it is better with respect to ergonomics and avionics and I think flies beautifully.

still interested in the glider version of the Europa but as said, I’m a bit tall and bit wide :-)

Paul, if you look under "Sales" on the Europa website, and select the Europa XS model for purchase, you'll find the Europa models now have listed, a Hi-Top fuselage which offers increased headroom, for pilots up to 6' 3".
