Jerry_Atrick Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 Wait 2 years when the GTX2080Ti is superseded... the costs will remarkably come down and they will still be making a profit... 1
flying dog Posted August 4, 2020 Author Posted August 4, 2020 I saw the recent youtube clip of someone flying in Sydney. Yes it is nice and very much better than FS9. But what an insult to the SHB. (Coat hanger)
flying dog Posted August 7, 2020 Author Posted August 7, 2020 On a more serious note: I've been watching a lot of the videos....... I am not seeing the ailerons moving when the planes turn. Yes, one of them I did see the elevators moving, but only a little. I have watched planes turn, roll and all that stuff. I can't see any aileron movement at all. It is just me, or what?
Phil Perry Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 Gutsy man letting us all know you have a 5¼" floppy Anyone who has the Guts to fly the Simpson Desert in a home made airyplane at 1500 Ft behind a Rotax engine definitely has MY vote in the 'GUTSY' stakes. . .Irrespective of his Floppy . . . . :roflmao: 1
Jerry_Atrick Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 That looks like the icon.. .I think I would rather just do the real thing looking at the potential cost of that ;-)
octave Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 That looks like the icon.. .I think I would rather just do the real thing looking at the potential cost of that ;-) My son owns a games developmemt company so he has all sorts of tech goodies. As soon as I can visit again I wiil spend some time on this. 2
octave Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 Fascinating video (imho) on MFS 2020 and how they achieve it. How Microsoft Flight Simulator Recreated Our Entire Planet
Red Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 (edited) Its really pretty, but the flight model for the prop singles is not great in some aspects, Landing the taildraggers is way too easy you have to try hard to mess up, you can climb at <Vx with no rudder needed to keep the ball centered and on the take-off roll the slightest crosswind from the right (2-3 knots) will completely overcome the tendency of the included taildraggers to swing left on raising the tail and swing you the opposite way as if the crosswind was 10+ knots..... very unrealistic Turbulence seems well modelled Its multiplayer function is awesome Overall X-Plane has more realistic flight dynamics but MSFS 2020 is a fantastic game and great way of explorinng places you know or have never been to. Has been great fun when stuck home Edited December 26, 2020 by Red 2
APenNameAndThatA Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 The thing about flying is the sheer physicality of it, and the high stakes. IMHO riding a bicycle is a better simulation of flying than Flight Simulator is.
danny_galaga Posted March 21, 2021 Posted March 21, 2021 (edited) I still haven't done my navs so I'm interested for the nav training. I'm waiting until second hand X boxes that run this are cheap and I'll just use a joypad. Guy at work has it on PC and he is just using a keyboard! Needless to say he's not having fun. I told him he should just get a PS controller so that at least the 3 axis is proportional. Leave everything else on the keyboard. Oh, since he knows I fly out of boonah, he's tried to fly a 747 out of there. I believe he wasn't successful... Edited March 21, 2021 by danny_galaga
spacesailor Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 I went to ebgames today, to price a new FS, Was told that it has been dropped for the PC, and only for one platform now. I just get lost when flying FS, and usually crash !. ( old FS ). spacesailor
