BillLipson Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 Hi All, does anyone know where I can get new tyres/tubes for my Xair locally? I have checked the web and it seems most of sites are online tyre suppliers getting their stock out of the USA. The original tyres are 4.80 / 4.00-8 (4 ply) D602 Barrow Deestones. Would prefer to get a slightly wider/aggressive tread than the stock Xair tyres to make them more effective in softer coditions. Any hel appreciated. Bill

440032 Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 Have a prowl around on www.geotyres.com.au Also the KENDA range
old man emu Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 Try this American mob who have a facility at Camden NSW - Desser The Industry Leader in Top of the Line Aircraft Parts I don't know what stock they carry, but you can always ask.
skippydiesel Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 Kenda is certainly one to try. Tyre suppliers specialising in go karts. quad bikes, etc are also worth checking (some get very "twitchy" when you mention aircraft - best to try to avoided) Word of warning - aircraft tyres should not have "aggressive" tread: Will pick up & fling mud stones much more readily than a smoother/road type tread Will tend to dig in/grab in a side drift situation, rather than slide over surface. Will have a higher tendency to rotate/windmill in flight especially if spats/fairings fitted. You will have noticed that certified aircraft tyres usually just have paralegal grooves 1

Bill Bill, when I had my Xair I got my tyres from here Trailer Parts | Garbutt | NQ Wheels & Castor Supplies I tended to pick up a few goat heads so got the heavier tread. They worked very well.
