Mexican drug smugglers 'torch' their private jet after landing it on jungle road when military planes started tailing it - as truck carrying more than $4.9million in cocaine is found nearby.

Until today, I hadn't realised that a Beechcraft King Air was a 2-seater modified Cessna Jet.

Pity the poor bugger flying it back to the real owners. The drug dogs would go ballistic if their noses got within 100 metres of the thing!

I'm not an officionado of anything really; but I thought King airs were made in Piston and turbo prop versions. . .

There are reports of two incidents here. Registration XB-RCM on the tail of the burnt out jet is for a  BAe 125 like the one below.

 

 

The second incident involved the King Air. It appears that the reference to the modified Cessna relates to a third incident. Obviously a fairly common occurrence over there.
