effinqueue Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Anybody here own or fly a Pelican PL or know where I can get some main landing gear legs for one? They were a Canadian kit years back and since been taken over by Ballard Sport Aircraft in Quebec - have had no luck e-mailing or calling them Home
flymate Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Hi, there are 2 'styles' of landing gear for the PL. The ''ultralight gear' (544 kg) ((PPL on picture below) and the 'heavier ' Ballard Sport Aircrfat is 'local' for me .. Give me your airframe serial # and I will contact Serge (Ballard) to see what he can do
effinqueue Posted August 30, 2020 Author Posted August 30, 2020 The one on the left is me. Serial number 646. It's a tricycle setup not sure if they differ Thanks

effinqueue Posted September 1, 2020 Author Posted September 1, 2020 so, you have the ''curved'' 2'' round chromoly gear legs like this one no parts fdor sure,,but maybe the drawings are available .. stanby Similar - at their thickest they're about 1.5 inches Here's mine with the fairings on so to be clear, are there are no parts available? How can I contact Serge and/or his company? Emails I have sent previously have bounced back. Thanks
Tiago de Azevedo Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 Good afternoon, Is there any company that still supplies landing gear legs for the Pelican? I have a Pelican500br in Brazil and the manufacturer here no longer supplies these parts. Thank you.
effinqueue Posted August 2, 2024 Author Posted August 2, 2024 I did end up getting some legs from a fellow in Brazil named Gerson Martinez He runs a flying school. I think it's near Sao Paulo. You can get him on WhatsApp or search for his school online. He may have some parts or at least have contacts because I think he still uses pelicans as trainers. Best of luck
Tiago de Azevedo Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 I spoke to Mr. Gerson but he doesn't have any available. Did you get a pair for your aircraft? Any other contact information you might have? Thank you!
effinqueue Posted August 18, 2024 Author Posted August 18, 2024 Sorry but he's the only one I have ever dealt with in regards to the legs. You might try searching some New Zealand based forums or Facebook groups perhaps as there were a few Pelicans flying over there in the past. All the best
X-wing Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Hello, on the subject of landing gear, I am wondering if a Pelican PL can be converted to a tail dragger from tricycle build configuration. I am interested in acquiring a particular one. I’m holding short of asking the seller of this airplane, at this time. Wanted to get some research done before engaging. Thanks guys.
effinqueue Posted February 27 Author Posted February 27 Yes it is certainly possible. In fact my Pelican was originally built as a tail wheel then converted to tricycle before being sold to the fellow I purchased it from. The fuselage is built with 2 channels for the landing gear to be mounted - a forward one for tailwheel and rearward one for tricycle. There's a steel rod at the rear for mounting the tailwheel.
