Thruster88 Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 Can the owner of a L1 maintained aircraft use the aircraft to obtain a design feature endorsement with a suitably qualified instructor.? The engine is on condition.
kgwilson Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 Given that you can be trained in your own amateur built aircraft I can't imagine why not.
jackc Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 I have been told I can use my 19 rego aircraft for my tail wheel endorsement.
RFguy Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 (edited) just a point....does the LSA mfr accept running the engine on condition? many do not. and owner build of course is u constrained compared to factory built... Edited December 5, 2020 by RFguy
facthunter Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 The Instructor has the right to Not fly(train) in any aircraft. There's some question as to who built the plane and that may be the only one who can train in it. All that's fair enough if you think about it.. In the SAAA some planes are literally one off. Non Instructors can be involved in endorsements By arrangement and approval on an individual basis...Nev
