Beginning 01-01-2021,  YBDG & YWTO have introduced landing fees & parking charges. 

City of Greater Bendigo being the money hungry morons they are, will be charging $11+gst per tonne or part thereof per landing and $11 per day parking. 

Wentworth NSW Shire being progressive, will be charging $15 per landing for aircraft over 1.7 tonne and $6 per day parking. Not hard to see which one wants to encourage private light aircraft to visit!. 

Interestingly enough, neither have these notifications in ERSA yet.

I got hit with a near-$15 landing fee at Scone a couple weeks back, in a <1,000Kg RV-9 - after ironically flying up for an information session (all of 2 hours on the ground) to discuss the airport upgrades. They've also introduced a fee for each T&G now too, asshats.

Yet Councillor Ron Campbell in their December meeting wants "the airport to be used much much more in the future" - but they are increasing their landing fees, and introducing additional ones, to deter GA operators from using their airport. Can't remember which document I read it in, but they added (or wanted to add) a 6cpl surcharge on fuel purchases there too, that is, for each litre of fuel dispensed, 6c goes straight to Council.

What would happen if some of these Councils whacked a berthing fee on wharves and boat ramps, or introduced a toll for crossing the footpath to enter a service station? Maybe the Councils could introduce a 6 cpl  "Local groundwater protection levy" for petrol stations. What about an entry fee to playgrounds?

 

Those are fair "user pays" fees for people who want to use Council facilities.

The only road vehicle that can tow a trailer WITH PASSENGERS,

Should be Registered And insured, so council can make a killing on taxing Pushbikes and their trailers! .
