Yeah, that makes a big difference. And yet, it's significantly more expensive than my perceptions. So it seems to me that the performance must be incredible.
spacesailor Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 IF ! YOU chop your own props ! . You can customise them , to whatever suits your airframe , take-off, climb , cruise and economy. It appears a lot of smaller engines ' like ' a wooden propeller . Also your wallet really likes them as too . spacesailor

meglin Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Absolutely. But Australia has the most important thing - its own market. That's important. We had our own market too. But now we don't.

We had our own market too. But now we don't. Oz has a local market of less than 30 million if you include NZ, with which we have fairly open trade. Ukraine is larger and when you join Europe it’s boomtime; your neighbours to the east will be a closed, shunned, backwater.
meglin Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 That's probably the way it's going to be. It is true that the standard of living of the population is very low. And our city is 35 kilometers from the border. My nephew from Moscow just flew to Sydney with his wife. He is a doctor of science, speaking at a conference. It's forbidden to leave our country, so we're cooking in our own juice. 2
facthunter Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 It HAS to end somehow, but no one knows how. Good luck mr. Meglinsky. Nev 3 1
meglin Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 We plan a decorative wooden propeller from a simple pine board. We do our best for our Finnish colleagues. Unfortunately, it's very cheap - it's even awkward to say. 3
meglin Posted December 25, 2023 Posted December 25, 2023 Finished a decorative propeller of minimal cost. That's where we left off. Flaxseed oil with dissolved wax. I hope the Finnish customer likes it. Took a couple weeks to make - a bit long. But the customer will get it cheap. 3
LoonyBob Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 Does anyone know what Richard Sweetapple used as a clear final coat on his later propellors? PolyUrethane, Everdure, something else? 1

I got told they are still being made. 1
meglin Posted June 15 Posted June 15 Finally, we have prepared and sent the next ordered wooden propeller to France. Due to defense orders, the customer had to wait for a very long time. Nevertheless, the next one for the USA will be dispatched in a few days. 3
meglin Posted July 17 Posted July 17 Yesterday I sent off another propeller to the US for VW. The previous one went to France (first two pictures). Despite the problems with our wood production, it continues, though not as fast. The decorative propeller will soon go to Poland. 2
meglin Posted July 23 Posted July 23 (edited) I apologize if I'm boring you. Let me show you what I got as a decorative propeller. 71". Edited July 23 by meglin 3
Red Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Hello Meglin, I remember you from some years ago in the UK Microlight forum (no longer exists) Your propellers always seemed competitive in price and of high quality, unfortunately I can only fit what is approved to my aicraft I wish you and your country well and hope there is light in your future 1
meglin Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Thank you very much for your warm wishes! I wish you and Liechtenstein prosperity!

meglin Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Thank you. I'm glad to hear that. That propeller went to Poland. We're making a new one, this time for the soul: 1
meglin Posted July 28 Posted July 28 (edited) Coated with two coats of yacht varnish. Edited July 28 by meglin 2
facthunter Posted July 29 Posted July 29 When I've had the opportunity to compare the same plane with say a Fairy Reed aluminium Prop and a Wooden one the wood equipped model seems less rough. It's NOT because of Balance . It's how it handles torsional vibration. Nev.. 1
