either very low voltage to the radio, or sick radio.

if a sick radio. probably a fairly simple fault.

Hi,,I need help with a used Microair 760 that a friend just installed. .  It has NO intercom.

Found few versions of the  manual on the net and they all mention an intercom.

I'm 'guessing'' it is quite old  as there is no ''revision'' marked on the sticker  , just the serial # : 8953

I found a '' Revision K 01/2000 ''  manual that has a section about the intercom. [ ?? ]

the ''revision Q '' manuals on the net talks about a MENU....  no luck there

thanks for the help

Does normal radio communication work fine?

Does it work fine from BOTH headsets ?

Do you know if one user is hooked up to speaker, not headset output ?

maybe provide us a list of wires and pins  that got connected.

Hi Glen,

yep, radio works fine (so far,, only ground test done)  passenger headset has no PTT connected, so can't test it.

But the radio seems to works normally ...as a radio.

I plugged 2 headsets in a portable intercom which is plug in the pilot side jacks..: all good

speaker is NOT connected

thanks

next, check if passenger can talk and listen on the radio (can use pilot PTT)

that will tell use if the passenger headset is connected to the radio in both directions

but no intercom...

I have seen people connect one headset to the speaker output, which is NON intercom..... so intercom works one work.

which way does the intercom not work ? one or both ?

do you have side tone in the headphones when talking on the radio ?

there are a couple of jumpers and options, I will look at the schematics when I get to the workshop today.

I had a look at the schamtic diagram

sidetone work son  on BOTH headsets ? sure ???? rell y sure ?

because the SIDETONE and INTERCOM share the same audio path internally.

the only way for intercom not to work would be if one of the headsets was connected to pin 14 (headsets) , and the other to pin 15 (spkr).

And from someone who built their own wiring harness for three micro airs and counting RFguy is correct.

Side tone is the intercom on the radio and if you absolutely follow the wiring diagram they work. In one install I had to adjust the side tone pot - access through the hole on the side and adjustment is set out in the manual.

check your wiring to the schematic and if it’s all ok you work through the side tone adjustment.

or as Kyle comms says your alternate is don’t use side tone to intercom and add seperate intercom.

yes  sure..just went to double check.  I will look at the sidetone ajustment when the owner come later this week.

then,, I should be able to train him on his new Savannah     🙂

no throttle and brakes on the right side,,so intercom is a must

when adjusting the side tone make sure to use a plastic bladed screwdriver because I was walking past a hangar one day to hear a lot of swearing and stuck my head inside and the guy was using a jewellers screwdriver and it slipped off whatever he was adjusting and went on to the circuit boards, he heard a loud bang and then saw smoke !
