red750 Posted April 29, 2021 Posted April 29, 2021 Apollo 11 astronaut Michael Collins, who orbited the moon alone while Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin made their historic first steps on the lunar surface, has died aged 90. Collins died of cancer, his family said in a statement.
kgwilson Posted April 29, 2021 Posted April 29, 2021 He had a good innings. Buzz Aldrin is now the only one left. I wonder if he will live to see the next human walk on the moon since the Apollo program was cancelled back in 1972. 3
Methusala Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 Collings wrote a bloody good book called (I think) "Riding the Fire". 1
DexterKUlrich Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 That is very sad to me. May they rest well.
