It's interesting to see how far the military drones have advanced - to the point where the unmanned X-47B, is doing "touch and go" carrier landings!

Refuelling shouldn't be a hard ask for a drone.  From my limited knowledge I believe that all you have to do is meet the recipient at a specified height and location, then fly extremely stable and steady racetrack patterns.

In the not too distant future they will have drones refuelling drones when most of the military aircraft a piloted by desk jockeys.
