Man that first video had my pucker factor up.  That looked REALLY marginal.  Hope I'm never caught in weather like that.

Runway length is only part of the equation. As important is; how low & long the  approach is (minimum approach angle) and runway gradient (a nice up hill really shortens the ground role).

How narrow the approach, landing clearance is, has more to do with pilot judgement and the ability to handle unexpected side wind gusts.

I would have taught 4 points safety  harasses would have been the minimum for this sort of flying.

I stopped using a 550 METRE farm strip because of discomfort. And yes the approaches were not the best. One direction involved coming in over the shearing shed, only 100m from a fence at the start of the 550m. These days, I use the town strip, 1000m of bitumen.

What a wimp, I hear you say.

Hmmm, mess with thunderstorms and all bets are off. Going into a strip like that, in those conditions, pure Russian roulette. Bytheway, can you build a Zenith with a conventional stick position, or is a central stick the only option?
