Thruster88 Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 That is sad news. The combination of low purchase price, light wieght and excellent reliability for aircraft like the Thruster and Drifter will be missed. 2 2
tillmanr Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 There are a large number of aircraft such as the Kitfox that fly successfully with the 582. I had one on a weightshift and enjoyed it for more than 10 years. 1
FlyBoy1960 Posted July 22, 2021 Author Posted July 22, 2021 (edited) They stopped building new ones last year with the start of Covid, they are selling factory inventory stock at the moment, this is expected to last till the end of 2021. You must be reading a different report to me ? Edited July 22, 2021 by FlyBoy1960
spacesailor Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 NOW What . will we use for those sub 70 HP motors that they did so well in, Hirth. spacesailor
FlyBoy1960 Posted July 22, 2021 Author Posted July 22, 2021 Hirth are no longer made from the last news i heard, that was about 2 years ago. The new Yamaha might fit that market perfectly !
eightyknots Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Perhaps the Aeromomentum AM10 makes a good replacement? See: www.aeromomentum.com/am10.html
jackc Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 I am in the process of ordering a complete new 582 from Bert Flood. Gary told me it will arrive Jan ‘22 delivery. Just sorting out the gearbox and additional parts, radiators, muffler etc etc. My Thruster is going to get its makeover 🙂. 1

I learned this week that Wingtech in NSW maybe closing at the end of the year, they are hopeful a younger person will take it on, if not it is another loss of support for rag and tube types. I have their skins on my t500 and they are superb. http://www.wingtech.com.au/page5.htm 1
RFguy Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Maybe Dianne at Punkin would be interested with the business
