Flightrite
As with all these weasly ideas ‘different’ is hard to sell to a very entrenched market. Most people dislike flyi g they just wanna get there so speed is e eruthing! First of type is a huge risk! Can’t see it taking off beyond the curiosity stage?
Old Koreelah
Gravel runways are common in the regional routes these small planes are aimed at. Prop will cop damage.
KRviator
They tried this years ago with the GE Unducted Fan concept on an MD-92(?) over multiple test & demo flights. Good speeds & fuel burn from memory but that was about as far as it went.
facthunter
Underwing engines ingest a lot of stuff. It's a big rudder but don't now how effective it will be with reverse thrust being used on a wet runway when you need rudder. Not very impressed with the E series, It's a small section fuselage and won't be as fast as a high bypass jet. The cabin will be quieter except right down the back. Probably only carries about 100 Pax.. Nev
APenNameAndThatA
Fancy the commentator saying that putting the engines there was a “deliberate decision”! So we know they're not there by accident? 2
