Garfly Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 Anyone have experience or thoughts on these? Looks like they fit many types. https://www.beringer-aero.com/en/actualites/2019/06/25/shock-wheel https://www.beringer-aero.com/en/shock-wheel 1 1
Thruster88 Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 Costs, $, weight and drag would be far greater than any benefit as I see it. Going up a tyre size would be better in the rough. 2
Blueadventures Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 Don't look right to me, would never fit them myself.

onetrack Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 The Gloucester Gladiator and Lysander both utilised a very cleverly designed internally-sprung suspension unit by Dowty - and it only cost £103 in 1945! https://www.dowtyheritage.org.uk/content/dowty-group/dowty-equipment/costs-of-lysander-and-gladiator-internal-sprung-wheels (expand the video to full-screen size, to see the Dowty suspension in action, in the first 20 seconds of the video) 1
FlyBoy1960 Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 If it's Beringer then its really good. I have been very fortunate to meet Claire the owner of the aviation part of the company and the products they make are absolutely world leading. Head and shoulders above any other product on the marketplace and I guess this is why they have so much of the market now. Anything that Beringer makes is going to be first class, fully engineered and reliable for dozens of years. I have no financial interest in them just an honest opinion from looking at their products in detail and actually seeing them on aircraft at our airfield 1 1
