Just want to see who’s planning on heading to Old Station? Are you flying in, Camping, got other adventures planned around the place?

I "should" be there, with Mini-Me Mk2. Hopefully camping under-wing, but depends on several non-flying factors lining up too.

Awesome mate,

Heading myself in the Victa Saturday, camping. But will have someone heading up in the car with all the camping gear. Looking forward to it!

Yes, fingers crossed. Will be good to see a good turn out! Will be my first fly in and camp.

I'm planned to be there.  Usually go the day before if weather good in case it worsens.  Plus miss any congestion on arrival.  Look forward to catching up.  Always been an great friendly gathering with good displays and air show and many there to catchup.

I will be there as a ground support helper, via my local flying club.

Taking a leaf from the C182 POH "If it fits, it flies" I'm getting ready early, as I'm away in the Democratic Peoples Republic of McGowanland in the lead-up to Raglan (for the first time in 11 months, mind you 🤬), by test packing now before I get home from my swing and run out of time.

So, in the back of the RV we now have:

One folding camp table

Two full-size swags

Two folding camp chairs

Two adult sleeping bags

One bag of tie-down gear

One fly-away kit

One (normally fitted anyway) first aid kit

Two umbrellas

One head lamp

QTY Cyalume sticks and;

Books for Mini-Me to read enroute

To still go on top are

2 pillows

Soft overnight bag

My normal flight bag

2 hats & sun cream

Probably more as I think of it.

This is a video I did a few years back will give an idea of what it's like.  I did a coolant hose on way home had to precautionary outland and some guys from Old Station came and helped out with hose joiner and coolant.  I tried twice to put money in their tool bucket but they gave it back.  Great guys.  This year is the next one and I'll be phoning them to at least buy them some beers.  Its a great turn out and worth the journey to get there.  Hope the video helps with decisions to attend.

This forecast rain is a bit of a worry, hopefully drainage is good and we get a few dry weeks after

The rain may be forecast, but it will not happen at Old Station. Rain is seldom as forecast for this location. No problems with rain softening the runway, it will have to drop about 100mm overnight to have any effect.
