Zero information in the boards 'statement'.

Why bother making it (apart from ongoing pressure from members).

I don't know what they could say when the information has been out for so long. I think a statement months ago would have been more appropriate.

Sounds reasonable to me. Should reassure some people. Nev

It won’t…….the cat is out of the bag to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars, read RAA ‘money’ I would  like to be a fly on the wall at the SAAA Flyin 🤩

SAAA aren't very Pro RAAus at any time and don't get involved with Issuing licences. Likely just be another "Rumour mill". You were worried about Your Liability as a member/ shareholder Primarily as I recall.. Nev

Personally, I think the structure of Aviation does not show very many shining lights, anywhere right now. RAAus hierarchy  were formally invited to attend SAAA Fly In, if they don’t turn up?

That will be interesting.

While RAAus may not be that great I don't rejoice in it's Problems. It NEEDS to continue to exist IF an alternative to VH is to be maintained.  Nev

The hierarchical structure is toxic, based on phone calls from what people tell me.

There is a lot of historical bad blood 🤢 Which I find sad…….

Maybe there needs to be big changes for RAA to move forward in a positive light?

Well, that’s great 😁 Hopefully they will display good PR, as RAA needs it right now 👍

Why do we need an alternative to VH- these days?

The US seems to get along just fine without RAUSA. The Brits too, can't see RAEngland getting off the ground. RAAus is a continuation of the AUF that was about before we had the likes of Part 103 and the Class 5 medical.

These lawyers appear to be admiting that their client, his girlfriend, failed in her legal obligation to report her finance to CASA.

We all have it but rarely are people prosecuted for it.

I will not comment on the ethical issues with believing he was so dangerous he might kill himself and yet taking limited action to stop him.

Yes, RAAus has big liability here but .....

KR That's why I said "IF"

BM any person aware of a matter adversely affecting aviation safety HAS to report  it to CASA. by law.  Nev

I believe there's only so much one can do, to stop an arrogant, overconfident pilot from killing themselves - and their pax.

The outrageous and dangerous piloting behaviour of the Metroliner pilot involved in the Lockhart River disaster was reported to CASA, and CASA did absolutely nothing, as regards lifting Brett Hotchin's pilots licence. Any other "safety authority" in any other country, would have been sued to the nth degree, and the "authority" dismantled, if the Metroliner disaster happened in that country.

Simple; We have a unique Public Liability system; they operate under different conditions.

This is just a Public Liability lawyer running their advertising programme the same as anyone else does.

Of course if anyone lifts his head and contributes on the Merits of the case he might get a call to come along and help.

We don't, although there may be some truth to the idea that CASA wants someone else to blame rather than them. Which is fine, until insurance companies decide they don't want to be CASA's patsy.

Well I'm only guessing here, but we may be looking at the beginning of a PL action in motion.

Maurice Blackburn saying that's what they're doing might be a clue.
